Figuring out college and career planning can be hard — I know it firsthand.

My name is Stephanie Hronis, and I was a first-generation college student. My mom’s education ended after high school, and my dad’s ended at 8th grade. While they believed college was important, they didn’t have the tools and resources to help me get in — or to navigate the many unknowns of college life.

Many of the students I work with are in a similar situation. They dream of a bright future and are constantly told that college is important to their success, but they don’t have the guidance they need to navigate the admissions process, and they may not have the resources to plan for their career or decide what to study.

Growing up, I never imagined I would go on to earn my master’s degree and counseling credential. But through my own experience, I knew I wanted to do more for the students I worked with so they could have the support they needed to succeed.

That’s why I started Shamrock and why we offer our services without fees — because I believe every student deserves a seat in those college classrooms.

For over 20 years, I've helped guide and resource students of all ages and their families, putting both my MA and my PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) credential to work. Now I get to walk alongside students like you as you determine your best path — whether a four-year university, a technical college, or something in between — choose a school, navigate the admissions process, and plan for a bright future.
